About FAIR

The Fide Research, Monitoring and Reporting (FAIR) Association was founded in Ankara in 2024 by experts who have been working in the field of human rights for many years. FAIR aims to contribute to efforts to make rights and freedoms accessible to everyone through research, reporting and advocacy activities, prioritising ethical values and objectivity.

FAIR embraces universal human rights values and international standards, and carries out activities within and outside Turkey for social, economic, legal, cultural, artistic, sporting and environmental rights and freedoms. FAIR aims to contribute to the strengthening of joint networks in solidarity with civil society organisations by adopting a rights-based subject-centred approach and an inclusive gender perspective that makes the experiences of women and LGBT+ people visible.

FAIR volunteers are specialised in the reliable collection, analysis and reporting of data on human rights violations in Turkey. With its experience in data collection, it strives to ensure the accuracy, consistency and reliability of its findings. In line with universal human rights documents, it aims to clearly depict the multidimensional nature of the human rights situation in Turkey.

FAIR prepares detailed reports in line with international standards, helping to make Turkey’s human rights record more visible and enabling international organisations and mechanisms to assess the situation in Turkey more accurately.

FAIR embraces the principles of “do no harm,” “humanitas,” “veritas,” and “bona fides” in its work, striving to obtain accurate data in order to create an environment where everyone is treated with respect, with a focus on protecting the dignity, health, and well-being of individuals.
